Description
You will find Villa Scatolaia on the high hills of the green Casentino valley, among Romanesque parish churches, ancient monasteries and fairytale castles. Located in a panoramic position on the edge of the National Park of the Casentino Forests, which encompasses inimitable natural beauty, ancestral forests, mountain lakes, and a wealth of wildlife. If you are fond of trekking, hiking or cycling, you will find plenty of routes in the National Park suitable for everyone and it will not be difficult to meet fallow deer, foxes, badgers, lynxes and the countless other inhabitants of the woods.
The villa is divided into two cosy apartments, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. Each unit has a separate entrance, the two units are not connected internally.
In front of the house, in a large green area of about 1,500 m2, completely enclosed, which like a natural terrace overlooks the valley below, you will have at your disposal, and for your exclusive use, a beautiful swimming pool ( size 5 x 10 m. - depth 1.50 m. - open from 01 May to 30 September). The pool is also completely enclosed, and there are children's games, a table-tennis, a wood-burning oven for baking tasty pizzas, and a barbecue for superb meat grills. For your open-air lunches and dinners there is a panoramic gazebo equipped with table and chairs.
In less than 10 minutes by car, you will reach Stia, a small and particular village characterised by its narrow alleys and paved squares, where you will find a supermarket, small grocery shops and also typical restaurants where you can taste the traditional dishes of the area, such as “Tortelli di patate”, “Scottiglia”, “Tortelli alla lastra”, “Acquacotta” and the ever-present Porcini mushrooms, in the sauces of the first courses or accompanying the various types of meat.
By car, you can also easily reach the cities of art and towns in the nearby areas of Arezzo, as well as Florence and Emilia-Romagna through suggestive mountain passes.

FIRST FLOOR: with entrance from the porch on the higher level of the garden, it comprise sitting/dining-room with double sofa bed and open fireplace, kitchen, two double bedrooms, single bedroom, bathroom with shower.

HOW TO BOOK
To make a reservation you can book directly on the site by selecting the dates in the calendar of the desired accommodation, or you can send an e-mail to info@eurocasa.com specifying the name of the villa and the period you want to book and we will send you our booking confirmation with all the details to proceed with the payment.
Methods of payment (by bank transfer or Credit card)
At the time of booking confirmation we will require the payment of a deposit of 20% the total amount of the booking.
The payment of the balance is required within 35 days before the beginning of the stay.
If the booking is made within 35 days prior to the start of the rental period, the amount must be paid in full upon confirmation of the booking.
Cancellation terms
-20% of the rental price for cancellations received up to 36 days before the rental.
-100% of the rental price for cancellations received between the 35th day and the day of commencement of the rental, and in case of No Show.
Hidden treasure
A perfectly kept place with everything there to have a fantastic holiday and the owners are so geniune, you got to love them immediately! No need to say more. That's the reason why we come to this place for almost 18 years. Wanted to keep this place a secret but unfortunately the owner asked me to write a review. Enjoy La Scatolaia but... don't tell anyone else about this place!!!... which is a hidden treasure for sure.
One hell of a view!
Very nice house! Nice pool, nice garden, pizza oven and one hell of a view! Owners are very friendly and helpfull! The area is in a less touristic area from tuscany but sometimes that's a blessing! Good and authentic people! Arezzo is 45 min. drive, florence a 1 hour drive, we stayed with 3 couples and 4 kids (age 1 to 4) and had a great time! If you want an easy going holiday in peace and quiet go for it!
Dream holiday
We rented La Scatolaia for 9 family members including a baby and a dog, and the house catered perfectly to our needs! Baby equipment was available, all amenities and appliances were available including pool maintenance daily, and having fresh vegetables delivered was such a treat! The views from the property are amazing, lots of green around including a national park ideal for hiking and a very spacious enclosed garden for a big family. The property was very calm and private although far away from Stia centre. All excursions were done by car, except a car ride to the local trout fishery where we bought some fresh fish for the barbecue! All of this together with the hot summer sun made this the perfect holiday retreat!
Amazing week
It was amazing hot week in Scatolaia, what we spend with our good friends. House and garden was excellent, the pool area breathtaking. All facilities was ok, but the most hottiest nights makes us need airconditioning. Stia Village was nearby and there were good shops for example butcher shop and fish hatchery were we buy fresh big salmon... So tasty. Special thanx to Leonard and his dad, you were most helpful. If you need something, ask them. One night we ordered Chef Walter, who cook us italian dinner, it was absolutely fabulous food.
Not the last time at La Scatolaia!
We spent our holidays at La Scatolaia for the third time now, and we very much enjoyed our stay there. Such a beautiful place, with perfect support both from Eurocasa and from very hospitable owner Sr Giacchi - so we're sure this certainly wasn't the last time we went there!
Excellent
We spent with my husband and friends excellent holidays in Scatolaia. The house was really lovely, comfortable and very well equipped, situated in a beautiful, quiet place (the views from the house and the swimming pool was amazing!). All apartments, the whole area around the house and the pool were very clean. Also the hosts (Leonardo and his father Isaldo) were very friendly and helpful – when we had problems with our air conditioning in the car they really helped us to solve the problem. We also were surprised with the nice gifts, like a basket with fruits or vegetables from their garden. One evening they organized for us a Tuscan evening with delicious supper – we strongly recommend you also to organize such an evening. There are a few places worth to see near there, like castles, small beautiful villages, there is also good road to Cortona and Arezzo. We do recommend holidays in Scatolaia.
Il paradiso .....
Location spettacolare per chi cerca tranquillità e relax assoluto. Pulizia e cura assoluta sia all'interno che all'esterno. Staff molto gentile e disponibile. Possibilità di visite a luoghi bellissimi nelle vicinanze... le foreste secolari del casentino ti danno un senso di pace e serenità... consigliatissimo!!!
Meravigliosa!
Abbiamo passato una settimana stupenda a Villa Scatolaia. Non manca nulla, le dotazioni della casa sono complete, le due cucine molto funzionali, c'è spazio per tutti (noi eravamo in 9), pulizia perfetta. Degno di nota lo spazio esterno, la piscina e il forno per le pizze sono un valore aggiunto. Meravigliosa!
