Easter Ciambellini

To make this Easter even more special, we invite you to try a traditional recipe from our area: Ciambellini di Pasqua.

They are delicious traditional Tuscan biscuits, specially prepared for the Easter festivities and are particularly appreciated for their flavour and characteristic shape.

These typical Tuscan sweets are simple to prepare and delicious to taste. 

Here is the recipe:

Ciambellini di Pasqua
Ingredients (for about 25-28 Ciambellini)

- 8 eggs
- 1 kg flour
- 800 g sugar
- 250 g butter
- Grated peel of 1 lemon
- Peel and juice of 2 oranges 
- 150 ml Vinsanto
- 2 packets of baking powder
- 100 g vanilla sugar


Melt the butter and set aside to cool. In a bowl, mix the eggs and sugar until the mixture is swollen.
Add the citrus peel, orange juice, liqueur, melted butter and vanilla sugar. Mix well. Add the sifted flour and baking powder.
The dough should be soft and a little sticky. Take a part of the dough and form it into a doughnut. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes, until golden brown.
