Villas, apartments and farmhouses in San Casciano dei Bagni

The birth and development of San Casciano dei Bagni are linked primarily to the presence of thermal waters appreciated and frequented by the Etruscans and Romans. With the end of the Roman Empire began a rapid decline of Italian thermal which however started again in the 13th century, and then San Casciano also revived, thanks to the proximity of the Via Francigena, the major artery linking Europe, northern Italy and Rome.
Many monuments to testify a rich past: the Collegiate Church of Saints Leonardo and Cassiano with features of 13th and 14th centuries and the Gothic facade. The Oratory of the Immaculate Conception, which is a small chapel with a gable roof and the main facade decorated with a travertine portal of the 15th century, only one nave and one altar in painted stucco. The Church of San Michele Arcangelo in Fighine, inside the walls of the beautiful castle, presents a stone facade, a gable roof and a with three bells bell tower. The interior has only one nave with a transept and two side chapels with traces of frescoes.
