- Rosignano Marittimo
"Although there is no evidence that the site was inhabited by the Etruscans and Romans, the land between Rosignano Marittimo and the sea remained mainly marshy and isolated from the main roads up in the 19th Century, when the reclamation implemented during the Granducato Lorenese led to the development of the nearby village of Vada. The turning point came at the beginning of the 20th century with the opening of the railway line Livorno-Vada-Cecina (1910) and the increased interest in the coastal stretch of Castiglioncello. Today Rosignano, situated on the famous “Costa degli Etruschi” is a popular place for tourism and holidays with its famous white beaches, and offers all sorts of services.
