Description

San Francesco 18 is located in a privileged position in the heart of the historical centre of Castiglion Fiorentino. Once through the medieval Porta Fiorentina, built around 1200, you will find yourself in what was once the ancient Terziere di Mercato.
The main street, the cobbled lanes and the historic palazzi will lead you to the Piazza del Municipio, with its panoramic Portico by Giorgio Vasari and the magnificent view sweeping as far as the eye can see over the Val di Chio, until you reach the top of the town, reaching the Torre del Cassero, which has stood majestically in defence of the village for centuries.
A few metres from the house you will find all the necessary services. There are bars, places for aperitifs, small grocery shops, ice-cream vendors, shops of all kinds and, above all, restaurants and trattorias where we recommend you taste the renowned Chianina meat or traditional Tuscan dishes accompanied, of course, by a good local red wine. The railway station, which allows you to move around easily even without a car, and supermarkets are just outside the centre, a few minutes from the accommodation.

The apartment is located on the first floor of an old building in Piazza San Francesco, opposite the characteristic church. Equipped with every comfort, it has been recently renovated with great care and enriched with modern furnishings and valuable pieces. The house, perfect for a couple wishing to experience village life for a few days, but also to visit the nearby cities of art, the delightful little villages, nearby Umbria and Lake Trasimeno, is suitable both for summer, as it is equipped with air conditioning, and for winter, perhaps to discover the Christmas markets of Arezzo and Montepulciano and the Living Nativity organised in the village.
In the small terrace, overlooking the cobbled alleys, there is a relaxation corner with table and chairs perfect for meals in the open air.
Francesca, the owner, will offer breakfast to all her guests. Disposable slippers and a bathroom courtesy set are also available.
