Description
You will find Santa Cristina just outside the small village of Papiano, in a panoramic position with a splendid view of the picturesque Casentino valley and the Casentino Forest National Park. Every morning from your windows you can enjoy lush, green woods. Centuries-old fir trees, beech and sycamore maple forests and mixed forests of beech, maple, ash, elm, lime, ash and the rare yew and holly trees, with incredible variations of species creating colourful patches of colour.
If for your holidays you are looking for the atmosphere of times gone by, the little house will welcome you in a warm, familiar and hospitable environment, with typical Tuscan-style furniture and all the necessary comforts. In our opinion, Santa Cristina is particularly suitable for families with children and also for couples who wish to have a relaxing holiday while enjoying the splendid views offered by the Casentino Forest National Park.
If you choose to lodge in Santa Cristina, you will be 50 km away from both Firenze and Arezzo. A few minutes by car, on the other hand, will take you to Pratovecchio-Stia, one of the most interesting towns in the valley, with shops and restaurants. Enchanted places that stand still in time, perfect for your day trips will be the ancient Pieve di Romena, the castles of Romena and Porciano, or the marvellous Conti Guidi Castle in Poppi. If you love nature excursions on foot, by bicycle or on horseback, it goes without saying that the Casentino Forest National Park offers countless paths and fantastic trails. On nearby Mount Falterona (1656 m), you can also enjoy the spectacle of the springs of the Arno River.
Around the house you will have at your disposal a terraced and extremely panoramic outdoor area. In a sunny position, for your days of total relaxation, there is a swimming pool ( size mt 4x8, depth mt 1.50 - open from 01st May to 30th September) and a pergola with picnic area and barbecue enjoying the view of the valley below. When you feel like a pasta dish, an excellent “tagliata” or the famous fried porcini mushrooms, a 200-metre walk will take you to Papiano, where you will find an advisable restaurant, café and even a small grocery shop. During the first week of August, the village is the scene of the Tortello Festival, a delicious typical Casentino “raviolo” filled with potatoes, a dish that you will remember for years to come!

GROUND FLOOR: Entrance on large and bright living-dining room with fireplace and double sofa bed and beautiful views over the valley of Casentino, kitchenette, bathroom with shower. From the living room exit onto a large covered and panoramic terrace equipped for eating “al fresco”. Garage with washing machine.
FIRST FLOOR: with access both from the pool terrace and from an internal staircase, double bedroom with additional single bed and pool view, double bedroom with valley view, bathroom with bathtub. Direct access to the panoramic terrace of the pool equipped with deckchairs and table.

Heel nette huis met een fantastisch uitzicht over Stia richting Poppi. Op 2 minuten lopen is er een restaurant met heerlijk eten. Het huis ligt aan een wandelroute en binnen 10 minuutjes sta je in het nationale park.

Very nice house with a fantastic view over Stia towards Poppi. At 2 minutes walking there is a restaurant with delicious food. The house is on a hiking trail and within 10 minutes you are in the national park.
