Description
Il Poggiolo is a beautiful villa with a panoramic view over the Valdichiana hills and Monte San Savino, set just a few steps from the centre of the village. Monte San Savino is one of the most important centres in the valley, with origins perhaps as far back as the Roman era, but certainly in the Middle Ages it became an important castle whose large and imposing walls still protect countless prestigious buildings of Medieval and Renaissance architecture.
You will enjoy your evenings strolling along the cobbled streets or dining in one of the typical restaurants that enliven the historic centre. Don't forget to taste the renowned Chianina meat, the “tagliata” or the Fiorentina steak, you won't regret it!
From Villa Il Poggiolo you can also easily reach Monte San Savino on foot. Here you will find, in addition to restaurants, bars, grocery shops and all sorts of necessary services, so you can also decide not to take the car for your movements.
If, on the other hand, every now and then you want to leave the quiet of your swimming pool and cool garden to visit the surrounding areas and Tuscany in general, it will be very easy to get from here to Florence, Siena, Arezzo and even Umbria in a short time.
All around the house there is a green, well-kept park of pine trees and cypresses, at the edge of which there is a tennis court, which enthusiasts can freely use for exciting challenges with friends avoiding to lose their practice even on holiday.
On one of the terraces there is also a swimming pool, completely fenced in and measuring 5 x 10 m with a depth of 0.80 - 2.00 m ( open from 01st May to 30th September). Also available 2 bicycles and some children's games.
The villa has a beautiful stone porch furnished with table and chairs, ideal for your dinners, barbecues and evenings in the open air.
Interior description
FIRST FLOOR: with entrance by an internal staircase, hall, kitchen, large sitting-room with panoramic terrace, tree double bedrooms, twin bedroom, two bathrooms with shower. From the living - room and one bedroom on get access to a panoramic terrace with view on the village of Monte San Savino.
On the ground floor at the back of the house there is a laundry room and a fireplace ideal for barbecues.

Breakage deposit Euro 300 (payable in cash on your arrival and held by the owner for the duration of your stay). During their stay, should travellers cause any damage to the property, they will be liable for the associated costs.
Electric car charging on demand on payment.
Obligatory final cleaning Euro 180.
Heating Euro 5 per hour (if used).
Pets are welcome on payment of Euro 6 each per day (small size only).
Swimming towels available on request Euro 5 each.
Wood for fireplace Euro 30 each 100 kg.
Tourist tax Euro 1,50 per person per day applied for the first 5 days only. Children up to 14 years do not pay.
HOW TO BOOK
To make a reservation you can book directly on the site by selecting the dates in the calendar of the desired accommodation, or you can send an e-mail to info@eurocasa.com specifying the name of the villa and the period you want to book and we will send you our booking confirmation with all the details to proceed with the payment.
Methods of payment (by bank transfer or Credit card)
At the time of booking confirmation we will require the payment of a deposit of 20% the total amount of the booking.
The payment of the balance is required within 35 days before the beginning of the stay.
If the booking is made within 35 days prior to the start of the rental period, the amount must be paid in full upon confirmation of the booking.
Cancellation terms
-20% of the rental price for cancellations received up to 36 days before the rental.
-100% of the rental price for cancellations received between the 35th day and the day of commencement of the rental, and in case of No Show.
Beautiful located
The house is beautiful located on the top of the hill. It provides a nice view over the area. The house is clean, functional and breathes character. Everything you need is available and working. The outside is the best part though. The pool, terrace and tennis court are so nice you want to stay outside all day. The hosts are willing to provide all information or extras you want, all you need to do is send a message. Would recommend!
Great Time in il Poggiolo
We (brothers, sisters and "in laws", age 62-74) spent a really great time in Il Poggiolo. The house is very nice and very clean and located on a nice and quiet spot, while it's at only 5 minutes walking distance from the nice village which has a good variety of restaurants and places to have a drink (or some delicious gelato). We spent a lot of time at the pool or under the canopy tent next to it, with great Tuscany landscape views. It was fun to play tennis on the tennis court. Negative points: not really. The way up to the entrance gate is a bit steep for older people when walking. Everything in the house is on the first floor, so it takes a little walk from the pool to the refrigerator to get a cold beer or get rid of it :-) We will be back!
Fabulous stay
We had a fabulous stay at Ilpoggiolo it was private & secluded whilst just a 5 minute walk into Monte SanSavino. The villa was great, tennis court was super & the swimming pool was cleaned every day. The hosts were very helpful & thoughtful. The views were incredible from every aspect, from the villa, from the pool & even from the tennis court. The whole villa had an old fashioned Italian charm. For the 3 amazing weeks we had at the villa we had various friends & family join us & everyone truly loved their stay. We spent nights at the villa on the BBQ & also had many great dinners in Monte San Savino, the market on a Wednesday was very special, buy your Parmesan & tomato’s from here! We would love to come back & stay at Ilpoggiolo again.
Great stay and Villa
Great stay and villa. Villa is well-furnished and owner is nice although some might not like the daily visits. The view is truly stunning from the villa. The villa is greatly located a few minutes away by walking distance from the heart of the village and decent driving distances from towns/villages around (Arezzo, Cortona, Montepulciano, Sienna, Florence etc.). Only negative point would be no air con and the kitchen is located upstairs which is not convenient when you like to eat outside.
Recommended
We were pleasantly surprised when arriving at Il Poggiolo. The house is exactly as shown on the photos, the furniture basic but OK, the beds excellent. What surprised us were the grounds, the olive trees, the wonderful view in all directions and the situation at no more than 5 minutes walking from the lovely old village. The pool was cleaned daily and we made good use of the tennis court. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Only minor point: the house has no airco. As we were there we had a heatwave with +35 C every day, so especially at night a fan in the bedroom would have been nice. All in all we had a delightful week at Il Poggiolo and I would certainly recommend it.
